Coal is a kind of cheap and abundant carbon content materials in nature world. Lower metamorphic grade bituminous coal contains relatively high volatile constituent and bituminous coal can easily gasify in high temperature and oxygen-free environment. In theory, the gas which contains kinds of hydrocarbon could decompose into active carbon atoms to form graphene in the form of sp~2 hybridization carbon atoms in touch with high temperature substrate. Gerardine G. Botte research group of Ohio University has prepared transparent graphene film using raw coal as carbon source. But the quality of as-derived graphene is not satisfactory and high demand for equipment are needed. In our paper, bituminous coal is used as carbon source to prepare coal-based graphene in which manner of as-designed a kind of double-section heating program which based on traditional CVD method.
