Increased User Involvement Through Free Choice of Assistive Technology

The project Free Choice of Assistive Technology aims to increase user involvement in the assistive technology process. The project will investigate the possibility to increase freedom of choice of assistive technology in Sweden and is ongoing to the end of 2009. The practical part of the project started in May 2008 and is carried out in three county councils. The Free Choice is for those users who have been prescribed assistive technology by health care professionals. The Free Choice of Assistive Technology is to be seen as a complement to the general distribution system.
