Wind modeling/mapping accurately depict the offshore wind resource. Class 4-6 winds dominant for most areas - 3 to 5 classes stronger than adjacent lands. Combined with GIS, wind maps are an effective site screening tool. Project‐specific wind measurements still necessary.
