In this research, hydrolysis starch was added into the starch blends to study the thermal properties. Theenthalpy of blends had a significant decrease to 109J/g as content of treated CaCO_3increased to 5wt%.The modified starch was degraded slightly to produce glucose in the hydrolysis treatment. The amount ofglucose in native starch and hydrolysis starch was 0.09 μmol and 0.14 pmol by the DNS measurement.Moreover, CaCO_3treated with titanium coupling agent was also added to improve miscibility andhydrophobility in the starch blends. The contact angle of the blends increased from 60° to 95° when15wt% treated CaCO_3was added. Treated CaCO_confirmed to improve the hydrophobility of starchblends effectively.
