Regional Difference Analysis of Influencing Factors of Land Illegality

With the processes of sustainable economic and social development and the acceleration of urbanization and industrialization in China, the contradiction between supply and demand of land has become increasingly acute, and the value of land has also increased dramatically. Based on this background, land illegality is changing more and more seriously. Although a large number of literatures had studied the influencing factors of land illegality, they ignored the regional differences in the impact of land violations. Thus, this paper applied a regression model of land illegality and economic growth, urbanization, industrial structure, land finance and illegal governance by using the panel data of 30 provinces from 2004 to 2014. The results showed that there were some dilferences in the influence of various factors on land illegality in different regions of China. In general, economic growth and illegal governance can restrain land illegality, while urbanization and the increase of non-agricultural industry proportion will promote land illegality. Moreover, land finance is the main factor affecting land illegality.
