The aim of this work has been to demonstrate the role of the music within the cerebral development and therefore, the importance that music occupies an emphasized place in the scholar curriculum. If the current teaching system is assessed from a neuropsychological perspective we ob the obtain the conclusion that children receive a deeply asymmetrical teaching in relation to the cognitive aptitudes which contained both cerebral hemispheres, because the left hemisphere carries out the control of the verbal and numerical abilities, whereas the right hemisphere is linked to non verbal behaviours, with spatial and emotional component.. School basically emphasized verbal, memoristic and mathematics aptitudes, which are more related with the left hemisphere functionality whereas the subjects who imply the use of the right hemisphere like musical, plastic and corporal expression remain aside. Currently, there is a new social conscience about this disharmony in the educational process and its repercussion in the personal development. Our research task indicates that music is a one of the best ways to develop the whole brain because of each of the aspects of the music is processed in a different cerebral area. From the perceptive point of view the implicated areas of processing the pitch, the timbre, the duration of the sounds, the harmony and those related with music memory, are activated. From the executive point of view, music requires the development and the integration of complex motor programmes and high levels of competence in visospatial and propioceptive tasks besides the activation of the areas required for perception. Moreover, music contributes to the emotional intelligence development because of it makes the children easy to recognize and to express their emotions, to develop the empathy, the self-concept and the social abilities.
