Globalization has forced higher education institutions to explore new opportunities forenriching academic environments for international students. The process of globalizationin higher education is being shaped by the use of Information and CommunicationTechnologies (ICT’s) that results in the expansion and maturing of online courses, freesopen course ware, e-learning, and collaborative learning space and course contentmanagement systems. These technologies are now a major part of cross-bordereducation around the world, and this has impacted international graduate students’experiences in many ways. This study explored experiences and expectations among120 international graduate students hailing from 26 countries who were studying abroadin the United States at the time of the graduate study. Using a quantitative methodology,this study found that international graduate students’ views of using ICT’s and learningstyles as useful but not as sole modes for learning. This study also found that studentswere highly motivated to seek degrees in high quality education, and they expected toengage with their faculty’s areas of expertise, scholarship, and abilities to network withstudents and faculty from other countries in a new setting.
