摘要

Block copolymer self-assembly, both in the solid state and in solution has been a subject of intensive research over the past years.1 Driven by the chemical incompatibility of the constituent blocks, block copolymers can form a variety of nanoscale structures and morphologies. Block copolymer nanostructures, however, are still far away from the complex, hierarchically organized structures that are formed by many biopolymers. In this contribution, we will discuss the feasibility of biologically-inspired peptide sequences as auxiliaries to mediate the self-assembly of synthetic polymers into unprecedented hierarchically organized nanostructures.
