A new three-dimensional (3D) seepage flow analysis system applying the element-free Galerkin method (EFGM) is presented. The EFGM is a meshless method that is expected to totally eliminate the mesh generation task. However, an analysis system by EFGM for complex and composite 3D objects has not been developed yet. In our system, a unique mesh data called consistency-free mesh assembly (CMA) is introduced to achieve a practical analysis system. A CMA is a simple assembly of meshes permitting incompatibility between adjacent meshes and overlap of meshes. The CMA circumvents the difficulty of the mesh generation of complex and composite domains such as geological structure consisting of several geological formations and underground facilities. This paper shows that the CMA is easy to generate and brings great advantages to the EFGM. Some 3D numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the usefulness of CMA and to discuss the accuracy of solutions.
