Organic and organic-inorganic hybrid thin film transistors are potential alternative devices to amorphous silicon transistors for lowcost,flexible electronics.This talk will focus on solution processable organic and organic-inorganic semiconducting materials for transistors and simple patterning routes,using microcontact printing,aimed at lowcost,low-temperature processing of devices.Two soluble materials systems will be highlighted-recently prepared soluble oligothiophene derivatives and organic-inorganic perovskites.Solution deposited thin film transistors having organic-inorganic perovksites as the semiconducting channel show field-effect mobilities and current modulation comparable to those for amorphous silicon.
