Mold dies suffer from severe adhesion to viscous oxide glasses during their forming at the elevated temperature without protective coatings. In addition, the coating material also is subjected to degradation during forming due to high temperature even in the inert atmosphere. In this study, nano-columnar amorphous carbon coating with and without doping is prepared to investigate the effect of process temperature on the adhesive deterioration during mold-stamping of oxide glasses. This tailored coating with doping is favored for high-quality mold-stamping for oxide glasses since it is completely free from adhesion of oxide glasses onto the coating film surface. In addition, adhesive behavior is described by measurement of adhesive force between mold materials and viscous oxide glasses.
