Uncertainty in the operation of the Harned Cell arising from temperature and bias potential effects

We have considered the influence of the variation of temperature and standard potential between cells on the results of measurements made with a Harned Cell. Our calculations indicate that when all temperature and electrode bias effects are considered, the expanded uncertainty of p(a_(H)γ_(Cl))_(o) may be as much as 40% larger than is estimated in the IUPAC guidelines.
