On the basis of temperature measurement, the numerical simulation o the unsteady temperature field for F165 air-cooled engine cylinder head under its starting and suddenly loading operating conditions is studied with the three-dimensional finite element method. The computation is completed by ADINAT, the pre-process and post-process and post-process of calcuated results the rreated by other softwares. The FE model, which consists of 488 nodes and 922 tetrahedron elements, is rationally simplified and divided into several parts to ensure the accuracy of the results.
