We live in a world of words, taking our ability to converse and use language for granted. Yet for many persons with severe/profound disabilities, learning even a few words is an arduous task. Technology can help these people to understand and use words for communication. The Early Vocabulary Development Series was designed to do just that. First Words, First Words II, and First Verbs receptively train an initial core vocabulary, Talking Nouns I, Talking Nouns II, and Talking Verbs provide opportunities to use the core vocabulary expressively as well as introduce the user to word combinations.
