Improving the effectiveness of waste estimation, tracking, management and disposal processes is a key objective for Waste Management. Project Teams face common challenges producing waste estimates that are accurately accounted for in the project plan, tracking and reporting waste record actuals against the estimate, and communicating the status of waste through the organization. These challenges impact the effectiveness of waste management from a cost and schedule perspective, which can have a significant impact on the bottom line and on future business. By leveraging information and communications technology (ICT) waste management project teams can create a mobile workforce that closes the gaps between creating estimates and tracking actuals against estimates by gathering real time data at each step in the process. This results in significant gains on schedule and cost, improved communication and visibility across the project team, and an improvement in the overall effectiveness of waste processing and disposal procedures.
