With the development of the large-scale, intellectualization and automation of ships, ships will carry out autonomous voyage and realize autonomous collision avoidance. Ship traffic conflict is one of important and basic theories to evaluate the risk of ship collision in waters, furthermore the severity of ship conflict indicates the possibility of ship collision risk. Ship maneuverability, such as turning and braking and course changing and so on, is closely related to avoiding ship collisions. Firstly, a method determining minimum turn in crossing situation is built based on ship maneuverability and ship domain model. Secondly, rules determining the severity of ship conflict are put forward, and the threshold value of ship collision is determined by ship motion modeling. Finally, the established ship traffic conflict situation model is verified through a simulation example. The analysis of ship conflict situation is of great significance to the study of ship collision risk and safety management in water.
