(165) THE DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENT TEACHERS' CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT COMPETENCE AT THE WORKPLACE DURING TEACHER EDUCATION INTERNSHIP

Teachers' classroom management competence is regarded as an important competence by many teacher educators and researchers. Little is known, however, about the amount of classroom management content in the teacher education curriculum and what student teachers learn regarding classroom management during their internship part of the teacher education curriculum. Therefore, this research focuses on mapping the extent of classroom management in the teacher education internship part of the curriculum, and how this relates to the classroom management competence development of student teachers. Based on the results of this research the curriculum will be improved and the effects studied.
