摘要

The aging of the Secondary Education teachers as seen in the most recent statistical data in combination with the rapid advancement of knowledge, especially as far as technical fields are concerned, poses the issue of teachers’ expanding their knowledge to meet the modern teaching demands. Universities can provide this updating on knowledge via methods of e-learning to ensure that training will be a long lasting one and solve practical problems having to do with face-to-face interaction. Our study describes a proposal for the continuous support and organized training of Secondary Education teachers (with emphasis on Technical Education due to certain special features) by means of University Open Courses supplemented by ‘Kallipos’ university digital journals. This proposal with its characteristics to be described below aspires to suggest solutions to the issues arising in an attempt to connect Secondary with Tertiary Education.
