Safe to the Last Day - How to Manage the Complexity in a multi-year ‘End of Life’ Process

As a response to the accident in Fukushima Japan in 2011, the Government of Germany decided to switch off all remaining nuclear power plants by 2022. Within this given constraint, it is necessary to examine which nuclear power plant operation processes have limiting factors which are relevant for staying within the transit time specified by German law (AtG). This means the resources and processes required have to be determined and prepared in a complex process of backward scheduling.
