NEW DETECTION TECHNOLOGY ELIMINATES DILEMMA ZONES

This presentation will educate attendees about the new radar-based vehicle detection sensor technologies that better mitigate decision-making dilemma zones. It will compare and contrast the new, innovative solution provided by radar with the less-than-total solution provided by the long-time 'state of practice', namely, precisely located multiple loop detectors. The new technology delivers dynamic and individualized creation of anti-dilemma-zone detection which can provide for a significant safety enhancement on high-speed arterial approaches to signalized intersections.
