The Avian Central Nervous System for the Neurologic Exam_

To localize a lesion of the nervous system, the clinician must be familiar with several of the long ascending and descending tracts and the location of the cranial nerve nuclei in the brain and brainstem. This lecture will focus on the neuroanatomic principles of birds and how they form the basis of the neurologic exam, important to avian veterinarians for determining the evaluation and possible diagnosis.
