Competition for high-talent college students and young professionals is fierce. These candidates typically have many options in front of them. To successfully recruit these candidates, companies must find a way to differentiate themselves: extending competitive salaries is no longer sufficient. After recruiting, onboarding and retention also present challenges. A presentation of specific data and insights from current and past R. Gene Richter Scholars, their mentors and hiring managers, collected using 360-degree surveys and follow-up interviews will serve as the basis for the discussion. This group provides a unique sample population and data set that has never been tapped, representing a dozen universities and more than 75 corporations.
