Error collection to instantaneous force perturbation in human arm reaching movement

When human perform a variety of motor task, it is considered that motor planning and feedback information such as vision or somatosensory are combined. In order to investigate human motor system, many researchers use point-to-point arm reaching movement with some perturbation. In our research, we have made original experimental device which can insert impact force perturbation, and observed on-line response to such force perturbation. As a result, we found that response started with short-latency from hitting instantaneous force perturbation. Additionally, focus on subject's hand trajectory, our result suggested that on-line reaching adjustment is divided into two different movements the first half movement with short-latency and the second half movement with long-latency. In future, we make additional experiment to divide between arm viscoelasticity and motor planning in on-line reaching adjustment.
