摘要

We synthesized an amphipathic helix peptide which will be better protected from atherosclerosis. The peptide is similar to apolipoproteinA- I(apoA-I). It was named Fukuoka ApoA-I Mimetic Peptide (FAMP). We found out that FAMP can remove the cholesterol via ABCA1 from macrophage, and it has an ability converting spherical HDL (aHDL) to unidentified complex in humans or mice plasma. The complex is similar to pre-βHDL which is good acceptor for cell-derived cholesterol. FAMP may be useful enhancing HDL function in the future.
