Click Peptide: Water-Soluble Precursor Producing Monomer Amyloid β Peptide in Situ

The intense and uncontrollable self-assembling nature of amyloid β peptide (Aβ) 1-42 causes difficulties in preparing monomer Aβ1-42, resulting in irreproducible or discrepant study outcomes. The click peptide, a water-soluble precursor peptide of Aβ1-42 with an O-acyl isopeptide structure, had a capability to form monomer Aβ1-42 as a result of a quick and irreversible chemical rearrangement. The click peptide could reproducibly provide a mean to recreate the assembly events that originate from monomer Aβ1-42.
