Child-to-Parent Aggression in Adolescents: Prevalence and Reasons

In this study the prevalence of child-to-parent aggression in adolescents and the reasons for the aggressions are examined. A total of 2719 adolescents completed the Child-to-Parent Aggression questionnaire. The results indicate prevalence rates of 14.2% and 3.2% for psychological and physical aggression. Reasons for the aggressions indicate that CPA includes both instrumental and reactive characteristics. Gender differences in the reasons are discussed.
