The Marketing Race Has Begun An Analysis of Equipment Specifications in the Phased Array Industry

Phased array technology was born in the '80s and '90s in Germany and France on a commercial basis. From the mid '90s, up until today, the number of phased array equipment manufacturers has increased from three companies to more than a dozen. However, this technology implies a lot of difficulties, misunderstandings of the limitations and shows a lack of quality educational materials that are easy to understand. This paper presents the evolution of the main specification parameters for phased array equipment and studies its influence on actual applications. This paper also discusses the history behind the worldwide adoption of phased array technology.
