New Isoforms of HDL Apolipoprotein C-I in Individuals with Coronary Heart Disease

One of the remarkable success stories of the evolution of mass spectrometry is how it has become one of the most powerful analytical methods in medical research in the past decade. The study to be presented here focuses on a recent discovery we made that converts the HDL particle from being cardioprotective to an atherogenic form. We will focus on the methods we developed to convert a drop of blood from subjects with and without CHD to an information-rich MALDI profile of an individual's HDL apolipoproteins.
