Using multiple techniques (TOF-SIMS, HPLC and LC/MS/MS, the presence of an synthetic im purity was identified as the root cause of particle formulation in a parenteral formulation. The judicial choice of techniques allowed the investigation to progress quickly under a very tight timeline.
