Metabolomics reveals that high-FPG mothers exhibit perturbations in metabolism of all major macronutrient classes, potentially impacting offspring outcome. An approach combining conventional clinical chemistries and both targeted and untargeted metabolomics is useful for characterizing maternal metabolism.
