1. The most abundant metabolite was (+)-catechin sulfate appearing in the plasma 2 h after consumption of GSE containing capsules. 2. This is the first documented report which determines proanthocyanidin and their metabolites in human plasma using Q-TOF LC/MS technology. 3. Future work includes quantitation of major plasma metabolites and determination of proanthocyanidin bioavailability after consumption of grape seed extract.
