In this study, 27 target abused drugs were successfully separated and detected by using UPLC column packed with sub-2 μ m material and using 0.1% formic acid aqueous solution-methanol mobile phase system. Although the proposed method cannot determine the cannabinoids in urine, we believe that the trace cannabinoids in urine could be analyzed by the developed method if the suitable extraction technique was used for sample pretreatment. The limits of detection and limits of quantitation of proposed method to determination of other 23 abused drugs were below 13.0 and 43.4 ng/mL, respectively. Moreover, the proposed method has been applied to analyze various abused drugs in suspected urine samples. The amphetamines, ketamines, morphine, codeine, and methadone were successfully detected by proposed method in real urine samples. The developed method is recommendable for the high throughput screening of various abused drugs in urine sample in forensic toxicology.
