Analysis of additives in foods containing meats or milk by functional membrane-HPLC-tandem mass spectrometer

This article introduced a novel sample treatment by applying functional hollow fiber membrane in the analysis of clenbuterol from pig plasma. To detect clenbuterol at low concentration, HPLC-tandem mass spect rometer was employed; moreover, the detection sensitivity could be enhanced by some specially designed sample treatment to remove the impurities. The pig plasma sample was filtered by a hollow fiber ultra filtration membrane functionalized with ca rboxyl groups in the membrane pores and then analyzed by LC-MS-MS. The recovery of clenbuterol was investigated to show how the membrane filters out interfering substances in the sample.
