sensitive, simple and rapid assay based on hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) with tandem mass spectrometry was developed and validated for the simulataneous quantitation of antidiabetic drugs Metformin and Glimepiride in human plasma using protein precipitation. Validation experiments of the method have shown that the assay has good precision and accuracy over a wide concentration range and stability, matrix effect and reproducibility were evaluated. The method was applied to a pharmacokinetic study.
