LC/MS Analysis of Heparan Sulfate Chain Processing by Human Sulf2

HSulf2 releases sulfate from GlcNAc6S, a residue found in hybrid NA/NS domains in HS. The extent to which 6O-sulfate groups are released by HSulf2 depends on the domain structure of the HS chain. The pattern of 6O-sulfate release at the non-reducing end of HS chains differs from that of interior regions of the chain. These trends were observed for both bovine and murine organ HS.
