In this study we have identified 1,288 of the 4,242 predicted proteins in H. marismortui by MS/MS. Metabolic network analysis has provided important clues about the biochemistry and functional status of certain metabolic pathways. With the available proteomic and genomic data, we can trace the metabolism of the amino acids, the only carbon and nitrogen source present in the growth medium. Further analysis will provide us a better understanding of how these molecules are utilized by the cells and the intermediate and final metabolites or compounds which can be generated from these amino acids.
