摘要

Brachyspira hyodysenteriae, the causative agent of Swine dysentery (SD), has been impacting on economics of pig production for decades. Antibiotic therapy effectively treats infected animals but is limited by the time of diagnosis, the cost and the possible increase of the antibiotic resistance of pathogenic strains. Therefore we evaluated the efficacy of a preventive program (based on the diet supplementation of sows by a fermentative based product) as continuance of the curative treatment (antibiotic) on the recurrence of SD episodes in an infected herd.
