Seven free FAs were measured in the 4 serum and 1 plasma materials. The overall concentrations across the five materials varied most for palmitoleic, oleic, and linoleic acids, with palmitoleic and oleic acids displaying the largest differences in fractions of free FAs with respect to total FAs. The preliminary results shown in this presentation suggest that these sera/plasma SRMs may be useful in validating methods used to distinguish FA species in serum or plasma.
