Sulfuric acid transfer between a small, acidic sulfopeptide (sSE) and tri-arginine (RRR) has been evidenced by both multi-stage CID-MS and isotope labeling. While both RRR +80 Da and +98 Da peaks are observed, it appears that the RRR +80 Da peak can be mainly attributed to a combination of sulfuric acid transfer to RRR along with water loss. Qualitatively similar results can be obtained over a range of collision energies.
