Proteomic Analysis of Brassinolide Amelioration of Salt Stress Response in Arabidopsis by LC/MS/MS

Over 600 proteins were identified with modified expression profiles in response to salt and/or BL treatment. Of these, a number were of interest including four leucine-rich repeat receptor-like kinases (LRR RLKs) (AT3G02880, AT4G08850, AT2G26730, AT5G49760). Gene Ontology term enrichment analysis using ClueGO revealed modulation of expected pathways along with other inter-related pathways of potential interest. Further data analysis of specific regulated proteins of interest and affected pathways is ongoing. Future experiments analyzing larger quantities of plant material with protein-level fractionation holds promise to identify additional proteins and pathways of interest with greater statistical significance in BL-mediated salt stress.
