DEVELOPMENT SPEED: NEED OR CONTEXTUAL CHOICE? AN EMPIRICAL INVESTIGATION ON ITS CONSEQUENCES FOR QUALITY AND DEVELOPMENT SUCCESS

While many practitioners perceive that compressing new product development cycle time and staying on schedule are important to product success, there is little empirical support that substantiates this perception: the few empirical studies on this issue offered contrasting results. This paper extends this previous literature by empirically investigating quality and success implication of time performance and the role of two contextual factors, namely Market Knowledge Competence and Product Vision.
