摘要

Nobiletin (5,6,7,8,3',4'-hexamethoxyflavone) is a major polymethoxyflavone (PMFs) existing almost exclusively in citrus plants, particularly in peels. A number of studies have been reported that nobiletin exhibits a broad spectrum of biological activities including anti-cancer, anti-inflammation, anti-diabetes, anti-obesity, and anti-metastasis. Recently, several studies revealed that nobiletin metabolites possess more potent biological activities than its parent compound. Hence, some of the major interest has been shifted to the exploration of biological properties of the metabolites of nobiletin and other polymethoxyflavones.
