Rare Eaeial Clefts: Evaluation of Psychological and Physical Outcome

A group of 19 adult patients born with rare facial clefts were evaluated on psychological and physical outcome. They completed several questionnaires on quality of life and satisfaction with their own appearance. A surgeon and layman were also asked to give their opinion on the facial appearance of these patients.Despite of the fact that the patients in this group are well aware of their deformities and show dissatisfaction with their own facial appearance, they seem to cope well and have a nearly normal quality of life.
