The unknown concentrations of 48 semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) in the gas-phase (C_g) and airborne particles (F) were predicted from their measured concentrations in settled dust (C_d) using a Monte-Carlo simulation approach. The median gas-phase concentrations of 15 SVOCs were higher than 1 ng/m~3. The impact of SVOC molar mass, saturation vapor pressure, and octanol/air partition coefficient, on the partitioning of SVOCs in the different phases was investigated.
