摘要

Determining the physical characteristics of cereal grain, oilseeds and soybeans is of great importance for improving the selection procedures in industrial cereal sorting. In this paper, we propose a novel technique based on three-dimensional inspection of individual grains by means of impedance spectroscopy. The presented approach is based on coupling independent methods, that combine capacitance measurements on frequencies in the kHz range with infra-red techniques. A first prototype has been constructed by means of finite element method simulations. Greater sorting performance has been achieved with respect to conventional pattern recognition techniques.
