This study examines the effect of partner support for flexible work arrangements on staff experiences with work-family conflict and subsequent staff turnover. From two small accounting firms, partners, managers and staff were surveyed in 1999 and a follow-up was done in 2004 to collect data on staff turnover. The results indicate that the level of partner support for alternative work arrangements is a strong predictor of work-family conflict and actual staff turnover.
