Corplex? Adhesive Polymers for Skin and Mucosal Applications: Hydrogen Bonding versus Covalent Crosslinks

摘要

A new class of adhesive hydrogels has been developed for application in drug delivery systems, which share the properties of both pressure sensitive adhesives (PSA) and bioadhesives. It is shown here that labile H-bonds, which are capable of breakdown and reformation in the course of adhesive bond failure, are of a crucial importance for their adhesive performance.
