The University Space Engineering Consortium (UNISEC) was established in 2002, merging the University Satellite Consortium and the Hybrid Rocket Group with the purpose to facilitate hands-on training in space engineering. Many educators at university level have addressed the effectiveness of hands-on training as providing unique opportunities where students can learn project management skills as well as technical knowledge through experiencing the whole process of space projects. This paper describes what values and principles UNISEC respects, and introduces some concrete examples of how UNISEC supports student space activities with educational consideration, followed by further discussion on the possible consequence and future prospects.
