摘要

When compared to safflower oil, fish oil increased WBC number, with most of the increase in the lymphocyte fraction, in boron-adequate but not in boron-deficient rats. In contrast, when compared to safflower oil, fish oil increased monocyte and basophil numbers in boron-deficient but not in boron-adequate rats. The findings indicate that the effect of changing the fatty acid composition of the diet on the immune or inflammatory cell numbers is influenced by boron status, or conversely, the effect of boron deprivation on immune cell numbers is influenced by the fatty acid composition of the diet.
