摘要

This paper deals with the error analysis of a numerical formulation for shallow water equations based on the characteristics method for the time discretization combined to mixed finite elements for spatial approximation.. It is proved that the numerical mixed formulation has a unique convergent solution, under some regularity assumptions on the exact solution. A priori error estimates are then established, via L{sup}2 projection.
